Tour Description :

This fabulous private 5 days / 4 nights desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga desert, our expert team will take you on an adventure to discover the most fabulous places of Morocco such as Merzouga including a Camel ride and overnight in luxury camp in the Erg chebbi desert dunes, crossing the High Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben haddou kasbah, Atlas studio and beautiful roses valley, Dades valley and Todra gorge, Amredhyle kasbah, then taourirt kasbah.

Detailed Itinerary :

Day 01: Marrakesh > Tizi N’Tichka > Ait Ben haddou > Africa Hollywood > Ouarzazate

In the morning you will meet your driver/guide, and we leave for Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains: Tizi N’tichka (2260 m altitude). Today you will enjoy the wonderful scenery over the high Atlas Mountains and appreciate the remarkable Berber villages before you get to Ait Ben haddou kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco (stop for a tour) a Berber castle where many movies have been shot such as: the one who wants to be the king, Babel, the kingdom of heaven, Prince of Persia…etc.

It was built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Et-Hami in the late 19th century; it’s now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site. Lunch might be in the kasbah before we continue to Ouarzazate. Thereafter, we drive to the Hollywood of Morocco in Ouarzazate. Here, you have the option of visiting the studio to see props used in some movies you might have seen before, such as «Gladiator» or «Jewel of the Nile». Thus, we visit taourirt kasbah then check into your accommodation.

Day 02: Ouarzazate > Skoura > Dades Gorge > Todra conyon

After breakfast, depart to skoura to visit the amredhyle kasbah then head towards fascinating Dades and Roses valley. First stop will be at skoura in Amredhyle kasbah for A visit. After a brief stop in the amredhyle kasbah, continue to the village of Kalaa M’gouna, famous for rose fields and roses products. Roses festival is held here every year in May for 7 days. Since the road is full of thousands of kasbahs you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take memorable pictures. After lunch in Kalaa M’gouna, we continue driving to Dades gorge where you will enjoy seeing the beautiful rocks’ formation called «the monkey fingers» and standing kasbah of Ait Yul. Check into your accommodation.

Day 03 : Dades gorge > Todra gorge > Merzouga Desert > Camel trekking

Our 5-day desert tour to Merzouga goes on after enjoying a traditional delicious Breakfast. We will then take a drive through roads lined with ancient kasbahs and many attractive Berber villages at the boumalne Dades. You will be enjoying the amazing scenery along the way of the remaining fortified villages that were hosting the caravan roads till the early 20th century. Our first spot will be in Tissadrine taking some pictures of the beautiful panorama of the dades valley, and then monkey fingers. Later on, we head to Tinghir within a 15 km breath-taking valley full of palm trees. Experience the high walls of grey and pink rock around the road, as we continue trekking along the 300 m high canyons.  Thereafter we continue driving toward the Erg Chebbi dunes located in Merzouga desert. You’ll enjoy your lunch in Tinejdad.

As soon as you arrive at the popular dunes of Erg Chebbi, we are pleased to prepare camels. There is an hour time for you to experience camel riding, and spectate the beautiful sunset while riding camel heading to camp oasis where is the luxurious tent that you will stay there overnight, as you watch the sunset in style heading to the oasis where a camp is located. Spending a night living by traditional nomadic tents inside or sleeping under spectacular starry sky outside the tent at Merzouga desert dune that will give you remarkable memory in the desert trip exploring. You can also spend your night playing drums with the experienced camel guide.

Day 04 : Merzouga 4×4 tour > Gnoua house > Visit Nomadic tribes

After enjoying an amazing sunrise, you will have to go back to your camp for breakfast and shower before the largest tour starts. Today we will drive around the desert to discover unexplored places in the Erg Chebbi desert. On the road to the desert villages (Ex: khamlia, Merdani, Mifis), we might meet some locals with different desert animals (Ex: Goats, Camels, Foxes, … etc.). Likewise, see some desert reptiles and mammals. Stop by the khamlia village in a traditional home built of thick earthen bricks made from a mixture of clay to enjoy the live Gnaoua Music which is played by the locals.

Set off to another sight in some mountains near the dunes for a panoramic view of the sand dunes and also from where you can start seeing the border between Morocco and Algeria. After that, we go on driving toward the old Berber villages and some nomadic families, where we will be hospitably welcomed with a cup of mint tea while enjoying the silence of the desert. Immediately after that, we drive back to Khamlia village, where we will have lunch in a local restaurant (Berber nomad pizza). After lunch, we will continue to visit Yasmina Lake, which will be the last spot. Eventually drive to our hotel next to the golden sand dunes.

Day 05: Merzouga > Rissani > Alnif > Agdez > Ouarzazate > Marrakesh

On the last day of our trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, early morning in order to see the sunrise. Return to the camp for breakfast and a shower. After breakfast departure to Marrakesh passing from Rissani in order to visit the big souk in the south of Morocco. Thereafter, continue the way towards Alnif, Tazarine oasis, and N’kob and the Draa Valley. Following up, take the way to Ouarzazate via the small Berber village named Agdez, and the mountains of the anti-atlas (1660 m high). After your time of leisure and lunch, we will continue our road back to Marrakesh through the high Atlas Mountains. We will arrive at Marrakesh in the evening and end of 5-Day Morocco desert tour.

Is it possible to pay the total amount with credit card or PayPal?

Please be notified that we don’t accept payments with credit cards due to many fees and hold security risks. We had an absolutely wonderful 5 days from Marrakech to Merzouga desert organized by Morocco Tabiarte tours. our driver, Hmad was very professional, kind and also polite. Furthermore, He drove us along distances very safely. In addition to that, the 1st day we stayed in Ait ben haddou village, 2nd day in a hotel in Merzouga village, moreover we had enjoyed the camel ride experience and spent another two nights in the desert camp. The local tour guides in each place were excellent.
