Detailed Itinerary :

Day 01 : Marrakesh >  Ouarzazate > Merzouga desert

Our staff will pick you up from wherever you are (Ex: Hotel, Riad, bus station or airport) in Marrakesh then we start our 2 days Sahara desert tour from Marrakech driving through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views from Tizi N’tichka (2260 m altitude). You will see the Berber farmers working on their terraced farms, herding sheep. Thereafter, we’ll continue driving along the road dotted with many kinds of wonderful Kasbahs (castles). Enjoying several stops along the way before arriving at Todra gorge. Besides, it’s one of the most impressive locations in the south.

The river runs through the gorge of Todra which has formed enormous vertical walls creating a uniquely beautiful paradise for visitors. Then we stop in Tinejdad for lunch break. We drive towards the desert to reach the stunning dunes of Merzouga where we will experience the camel ride through the golden Erg chebbi desert with a break to watch the sunset over the sand dunes, try sand boarding in the sand if you are interested and enjoy the beautiful landscapes… until the sun goes down. Once you arrive at your camp, you will be greeted with a cup of tea and relax till dinner time. Afterwards there will be some traditional Berber drumming music around the fire. Enjoy your beautiful night playing and listening to the music under wonderful sky full stars.

Day 02 : Merzouga Desert > Ziz valley > Ifrane > Fes

Today as you’re already in the desert it is worth getting up early in the morning to see the sunrise near the camp. After these lovely moments you will have to go back to the camp for breakfast, shower & pack. On the second day, we will continue our tour to Fes via Ziz valley, the second-largest river in Morocco which crosses the whole Morocco to Algeria.

Cross the middle Atlas Mountains where you’ll enjoy amazing views. Lunch break at a restaurant, then in the afternoon we go towards the next spot at cedar forest or Michlifen where we will take a short walk to see the wild monkeys and take some pictures. We will then stop at Ifrane, the little Switzerland of Morocco for a coffee or WS then up to Fes. Probably arrive at Fes in the evening and then drop you off at your accommodation. The most magical trip to the Merzouga dunes

This was one of the best trips [2 day Sahara desert tour from Marrakech to Fes] that we have taken. Really loved this country so much, hospitable and happy people. Moreover, it is a creative and sophisticated culture not widely known. The following points must be noted :

  • Our guide and driver’s passion for his country was contagious. He knew what we should see, and he explained the history and also architecture in detail. Furthermore, he was a skillful driver and a very supportive guide.
  • The luxury and comfort of the accommodation in the Sahara. Our hosts were always attentive and generous.
  • The excellent food at the Camp and the restaurants.
  • The fascinating and stimulating visits and sites.
  • The camel ride on the Sahara dunes and night in the Berber tent was the highlight of the trip. Thank you for what can only be described as the best overseas trip We have made in our life. Read More Morocco tour’s reviews
